Job Title: Vehicle Body Shop Prepper
Location: Near Dursley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm
Salary: Highly Competitive, depending on experience

About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Body Shop Prepper to join a busy and growing team. This role involves preparing commercial vehicles for painting, ensuring the highest standards of finish and durability. You'll work primarily on lorries, refuse vehicles, and other commercial fleet vehicles, contributing to refurbishment and enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, masking, sanding, and priming for optimal paint adhesion
  • Repair dents, scratches, and other imperfections prior to painting
  • Assist in vehicle disassembly to protect components during the painting process
  • Apply primers and specialty coatings to a range of commercial vehicles
  • Collaborate with paint sprayers to achieve seamless finishes
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including care of tools and equipment
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures in the use of materials and equipment
  • Perform quality checks to ensure all prep work meets required standards
  • Dispose of waste materials according to safety and environmental guidelines
  • Contribute to team efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in vehicle prepping, ideally in a commercial or automotive environment
  • Skilled in sanding, masking, and surface preparation techniques
  • Experience working on commercial vehicles such as lorries or refuse trucks
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines
  • Physically capable of working in a body shop environment
  • Solid understanding of workshop health and safety procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet company standards
