Trainee Survival Equipment Technician

Location: Tetbury, Gloucestershire
Hours: Full-time, permanent (4-day working week, Monday–Thursday, 8.00am–6.00pm, 38 hours)
Salary: Dependent on experience

We are looking for someone enthusiastic, committed, and eager to learn from scratch to join our team as a Trainee Survival Equipment Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who may not have previous technical experience but is keen to build a long-term career within a unique and highly specialised field.

You will be fully supported with in-house and external training, working alongside an experienced team to develop the skills needed to inspect, maintain, repair, and test survival and aircraft safety equipment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Learning to service and maintain survival equipment to company and OEM standards
  • Assisting with scheduled maintenance and safety checks on escape systems
  • Supporting with disassembly, testing, and fault finding
  • Helping with repair and replacement of components
  • Carrying out operational and functional testing under supervision

What we are looking for:

  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills from the ground up
  • A responsible team player who can also work independently when required
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Safety conscious, adaptable, and open to change
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to building a long-term career
  • A good level of general education (GCSE standard or equivalent)

Please note: This is a physically demanding role and manual handling will form a large part of your day-to-day work.
