Tool Room Engineer

Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Thursday 7.30 – 16.30, Friday 7.30 – 12.30

Job purpose

We are looking for a Tool Room Engineer to join the Tool Room. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to various departments around a Production department, operating equipment including CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Grinders and tool room machining equipment.

Key Responsibilities of a Tool Room Engineer:

• Maintain injection mould tooling on a daily basis.
• Design, manufacture and fit quality parts for production jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Manufacturing components using appropriate measuring tools.
• Perform tool, jig, and fixture repair and maintenance, both preventative and responsive.
• Ensure quality of work meets required standards and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Develop and work with a preventative maintenance schedule compliant with ISO13485.
• Support the Tool Room Manager and the daily production team as required.
• Follow the requirements of the quality system and inform the Quality team of any quality-related issues.
• Maintain systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 13485, and IVD regulations, including good documentation practices.

Key Skills of a Tool Room Engineer:

• HNC|HND in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in plastic injection mould tooling.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing/workshop tooling environment.
• Machining experience capable of high-tolerance work.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• CNC experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team as well as individually.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Good IT skills.
