Position: Coating Operator

Overview: The Coating Operator is responsible for preparing, spraying, and inspecting customer products using various thermal spraying techniques. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow specific procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare customer products for spraying, including cleaning, masking, and blasting.
  • Operate semi-automatic equipment for HVOF and Plasma spraying.
  • Seal customer products as part of the process.
  • Maintain control of jigging/fixtures and ensure they are stored in the correct area.
  • Monitor and maintain section consumables and control powder stock.
  • Inspect goods on arrival and conduct in-process inspections.
  • Strip coatings from jigs/fixtures when needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and move work to designated areas on the shop floor.
  • Report and monitor any material affecting processing.
  • Follow health & safety and environmental procedures, maintaining a clean work environment with 5S practices.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Experience in an engineering environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Attention to detail, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude.
  • Thermal spraying experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

Salary/Package:

  • £29,025 + 20% shift allowance
  • Pension with matched contributions (4%-10%).
