SMT Supervisor

Location:  Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

Hours:  8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Thursday and 8 AM to 12:30 PM on a Friday

Salary:  £33,000 to £36,000 p/annum Dependant on Experience

Our client is one of North EU’s leading manufacturing partners of electronic products. Their service covers everything from production to the highest after-sales services.

Key Responsibilities of a SMT Supervisor

• Oversee all activities within your team. 
• Ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Provide guidance, instruction, and leadership to team members.
• Decide how to approach tasks and develop plans to accomplish them.
• Consider the team’s strengths, weaknesses, and available resources.
• Managing tasks and department documents.
• Establish and communicate goals that team members will work toward.
• Motivate the team and provide direction.
• Support Surface Mount (SMT) assembly line/equipment, including programming, maintenance, equipment/software troubleshooting, and debugging of new and existing production assembly programs.
• Ensuring NPIs are implemented effectively •
• Perform failure analysis and/or root cause analysis of defects and/or field returns.
• Perform inspections, corrective and preventive actions, and other quality assurance-related assignments to ensure that the SMT line is producing a high-quality product.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed.
• Monitor the machine condition to run smoothly and avoid unnecessary breakdowns.
• Covering department holidays and running SMT equipment as necessary

Key Skills of a (Job Title)

• Effective 360 communication, distributing information to team members and stakeholders throughout the business.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience of continuous running and setting of SMT equipment.
• Minimum 2 years leading a team
• Understanding of Mycronics equipment is desirable but not essential.
• Understanding of IPC 610 standards
• Highly organised
• Computer literate
