Senior IT Technician

Location: Tewkesbury, with travel to regional depots
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 
Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week

Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior IT Technician to join our team. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional technical support and overseeing the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) needs of our company. As we embark on exciting transitions, including the implementation of new software in our Sales departments, we need someone who is proactive, resourceful, and adept at problem-solving.

Responsibilities for the Senior IT Technician:

  • Technical Support: Provide first-class technical support, serving as a point of contact for network, printer, desktop, and laptop issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with external IT support partners, internal IT team members, and contribute to in-house projects.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate systems, software, and hardware projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective implementation.
  • Fault Finding: Troubleshoot technical issues, offering first and second line support, and implement effective solutions.
  • Team Supervision: Mentor and supervise our IT Technician, fostering their professional development.
  • Communication: Interact with staff at all levels of the organization, conveying complex technical concepts in clear, understandable language.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain and develop our IT infrastructure, identifying opportunities for enhancement.
  • Leadership: Step in for the IT Manager when needed, assuming leadership responsibilities in their absence.

Requirements for the Senior IT Technician:

  • Qualifications: Level 4/5 ICT, Business, and Project Management qualifications preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant experience with ongoing professional development.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Office 365, including MS Teams, and advanced Excel skills with Macro & Visual Basic programming abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Problem-Solving: Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, able to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Driving Requirement: Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for travel to regional depots.
