Senior Cabinet Maker – Department Manager
Location: Woodchester, Stroud
Salary: £11.50 – £15 per hour DOE
Hours: 40 hours p/week. Monday – Thursday 7:00 – 16:30 Friday 7:00 – 11:00
Our client is looking for a passionate individual who has experience with cabinet Making or wood working to work on the Assembly Department and lead a small team.
You will be working in their assembly department. This will include full training and development, to help you understand their requirements, but ultimately this role will include leading a small team, being responsible for any faults, and performing quality checks.
A basic understanding of machinery used within a wood working sector would be ideal.
Our client produces projects for trade and they are well known for producing bespoke kitchens and interiors, allowing them to produce high quality cabinetry for any room.
The responsibilities of the cabinet maker:
- Reading the cut lists and information from the sketch-up models.
- Creating waste lists/rip lists and ensure efficient use of materials.
- Managing the time of the team and ensuring the project is on schedule, to ensure deadlines are being met.
- Manufacturing carcasses and shelving, attaching frames, levelling units, hinging and hanging doors, fitting drawers and various mechanisms such as bins and corner pullouts, attaching handles.
- Using a table saw, track saws and Spindle Moulders.
- Be hands on with using routers, drills, and Lamello.
- Work with the Domino Machines.
- Read specifications to help produce the right sizes for the cabinets.
- Ensuring H&S is being adhered to for the whole team.
- Liaising with other department managers to make sure quality and schedules are being adhered to.
- Perform quality checks and report any issues.
Requirements needed for the Cabinet Maker:
- Experience with woodworking is a must, whether it is a hobby or previous job role.
- Some experience with management of a small team.
- Experience with quality checking.
- Enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn and progress in the world of wood work and cabinet making for bespoke kitchens.
- Some experience with wood working, whether it be a college course completed, a hobby, a side job or something you are thoroughly interested in!
- An understanding of reading requirements and instructions in order to put things together.
- A logical mindset to help you process the instructions and requirements.
