R&D Technician (Automotive) 6814

Location: Gloucester

Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
 

Key Responsibilities of a R&D Technician:

  • Support the development of new automotive products from concept through to production
  • Build and assemble prototype components for testing and evaluation
  • Test and validate products including valves, intercoolers, air intake systems and actuators
  • Support dyno, vehicle and bench testing activities
  • Fit products to customer vehicles where required
  • Assist with product improvement and ongoing development projects
  • Produce clear technical feedback and reports following testing and development work
  • Work closely with design, CNC, fabrication and production teams to transition products into production
     

Key Skills of a R&D Technician:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on engineering skills
  • Previous experience within an automotive or motorsport environment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Confident using workshop equipment and measuring tools
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Organised, methodical and able to work independently or within a team
  • Experience with TIG welding, fabrication or CNC environments would be advantageous but not essential
