Quality Team Lead

Location: Bridgwater
Hours: Full time, day shift hours (early finish on Friday)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience plus a range of excellent benefits

Summary of the role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quality Team Lead to oversee quality assurance processes and manage a team of quality professionals. The successful candidate will ensure products and services meet customer and regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities of a Quality Team Lead:

  • Lead, mentor and develop Quality Engineers, Technicians and Operatives.
  • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics and team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and supply chain teams.
  • Facilitate internal, customer and regulatory audits and manage follow-up actions.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including SOPs, work instructions and inspection plans.
  • Lead and manage projects as required.

Key Skills and Experience of a Quality Team Lead:

  • Proven experience managing and leading a team.
  • Background in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Higher National Diploma or equivalent.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Results-driven, data-focused approach with a track record in continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical abilities, including use of quality tools and methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, SPC).
  • Experience with quality management systems and ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, AS 9100, IATF 16949).
  • Proficient in conducting internal and supplier audits.
