Quality Operative (Maternity Cover)
Location: Bridgwater
Hours: 37 hours per week, 8.00am – 4.30pm Mon to Thurs, 8.00am – 1.00pm Friday
Salary: £28,000
Key Responsibilities of a Quality Operative:
- Carry out regular visual and dimensional inspections on parts and products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Accurately record inspection results and prepare quality documentation including FAIRs, PPAPs, dimensional and material reports.
- Use a range of measuring equipment including handheld tools and CMMs.
- Support first-off inspections and manage quality claims using structured problem-solving techniques.
- Maintain and improve the site’s calibration system and manage quality activities such as MSA, SPC, and PPAP.
- Create, update, and implement PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOPs and provide training to promote high-quality standards.
- Use ERP systems for quality-related data entry and traceability.
Key Skills of a Quality Operative:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in using inspection equipment and working within structured quality systems.
- Skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and train others.
- Engineering qualifications and sound understanding of production processes.
