Pump Service Engineer

Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Hours: Full time | Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum DOE

 

Key Responsibilities of a Pump Service Engineer

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault finding on sewage treatment plants, sewage pumps and wastewater systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify both mechanical and electrical faults across a range of equipment.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance in line with customer maintenance contracts and service plans.
  • Attend customer call outs, providing effective problem solving and technical support.
  • Liaise daily with the scheduling team and line manager, providing updates on progress and reporting any issues.
  • Maintain excellent communication with customers on site, ensuring a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Complete detailed service reports following each site visit using a mobile app.
  • Record parts used and identify any additional works required in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure company van stock is maintained with the appropriate tools, equipment and spare parts.
  • Participate in on the job training and development as required.
  • Work safely and professionally across domestic, commercial and industrial customer sites.

Key Skills of a Pump Service Engineer

  • Previous experience working within the wastewater, sewage treatment, pumping or a similar engineering environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage your own workload.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with customers and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach with strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a field based role and using mobile technology to manage daily schedules and reporting.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • 17th, 18th or 19th Edition Electrical qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • CSCS Card would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Confined Spaces qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
