Paint Technician

Location:  Gloucester

Hours:  40 hours a week

Salary:  £30,000

Key Responsibilities of a Paint Technician

• Mix paints for joinery coatings and stains, ensuring all formulations of preparation and colour matching are to the highest standard and meet customer requirements
• Ensure colour recipes, libraries and samples are updated and maintained
• Fill aerosol cans for despatch to customers
• Help plan, organise, coordinate and control the dispatch of finished goods
• Ensure stock control of colourants and special pigments is completed
• Maintain a clean and tidy mixing and laboratory area including tools, equipment, and machinery in line with the 5S principles.
• Conduct spraying out and testing of coated samples for presentation to customers

Key Skills of a Paint Technician

• Previous experience in spraying or handling coatings
• Attention to detail to colour match the paints correctly
• The ability to work alone or as part of a team
• The ability to maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in a manufacturing business using 5S principles is advantageous but not essential
