Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) 6953
Location: Tewkesbury
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 1:45pm, plus Saturday 6:00am – Finish
Week 2: Monday to Friday, 1:45pm – 9:45pm
Participation in a call-out rota (approximately 1 week in 6).
Salary: £20.59 per hour + Overtime
Key Responsibilities of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias):
- Respond promptly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns across production equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Repair, test and recommission machinery safely and efficiently.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Participate in the engineering call-out rota when required.
Key Skills of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias):
- Strong electrical bias (approximately 70% electrical / 30% mechanical).
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
- Previous experience working with high-speed automated manufacturing machinery.
- Background within FMCG or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- HNC/HND (Level 4/5), City & Guilds Level 4/5 in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to shift working and call-out duties.
Benefits:
- £20.59 per hour
- Overtime paid at 1.25x hourly rate after 40 hours
- Call-out allowance:
- £100 weekly retainer (approximately 1 week in 6)
- £50 per call-out, plus hourly rate once clocked in
