Management Accountant 

 
Location:
Stroud 
Hours: Full-time, permanent 
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per year DOE 

 
Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join their dedicated team in Stroud. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial processes and supporting various administrative functions.  

 

Responsibilities of a Management Accountant: 

  • Sales Ledger 

  • Oversee debtors and ensure timely collections. 

  • Process purchase invoices, proforma invoices, and supplier payment runs. 

  • Manage supplier contracts and relationships. 

  • Reconcile monthly company credit cards and manage staff expense claims. 

  • Bank postings and reconciliations. 

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping and accounts up to trial balance. 

  • Assist with management accounts preparation, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, journal entries, P&L, and balance sheet. 

  • Handle stock adjustments and manage over-deliveries. 

  • Support the annual audit and preparation of annual accounts. 

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting. 

  • Complete and submit VAT returns and other HMRC processes. 

  • Oversee time and attendance management, including clocking administration, timesheets, annual leave, sickness, and absences. 

  • Report accidents and manage related documentation. 

  • Manage payroll, ensuring accurate filings and timely payments. 

  • Handle pension submissions, including auto-enrolment processes. 

  • Oversee property services, including rents, utilities, office supplies, and building services. 

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required. 

 

Key Skills of a Management Accountant:  

  • At least 3 years of accounts experience. 

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly. 

  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities. 

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. 

  • Enjoys working in a small team environment and can work independently when required.
