Maintenance Operative – Dursley

Location: Cam, Gloucestershire
Hours: Day shift – Monday to Thursday 7:45am–4:30pm, Friday 7:45am–3:30pm (39 hours per week, 45-minute unpaid break each day)
Salary: £14.23 per hour

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out deep cleaning (fettling) of yarn plant machinery to remove debris and prevent contamination between fibre types.
• Scratch out rollers using a hand card and clean rollers with a nozzle.
• Lift and handle heavy covers and tools, sometimes at awkward angles.
• Work at height, in confined spaces, and in high-temperature environments.
• Clean grids and plain rollers, and empty the fettling plant.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Skills:
• Mechanically minded with practical problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to work in a physically demanding and sometimes dirty environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and a conscientious approach to work.
