Location: Tewkesbury

Hours: Full Time, Permanent
45 hours per week (must have a flexible approach to working)

Key Responsibilities of an Engineering / Maintenance Manager:

  • Lead the site maintenance function to ensure buildings, facilities and production equipment operate safely, reliably and efficiently
  • Plan and deliver preventative maintenance programmes to minimise breakdowns and reduce downtime
  • Analyse maintenance data, identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Report KPIs, departmental priorities and operational risks to Senior Management and Board level on a monthly basis
  • Recruit, train, schedule and motivate the Engineering / Maintenance team
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures and standards across the site
  • Oversee repairs, maintenance activities, installations and facility upkeep
  • Work closely with production and wider site departments to improve operational performance, quality and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, policies and regulatory requirements
  • Manage maintenance budgets, procurement activities and cost controls
  • Oversee contractor performance, safety, quality and project delivery
  • Support and mentor engineers with fault finding, upgrades and engineering best practice
  • Ensure operational resilience and appropriate engineering support for out-of-hours breakdowns

Key Skills of an Engineering / Maintenance Manager:

  • Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge
  • Previous experience managing maintenance within a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Experience developing preventative maintenance strategies and reducing downtime
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis ability
  • Experience managing budgets, procurement and maintenance planning systems
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across departments
  • Experience using design or visualisation software such as AutoCAD advantageous
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours to support business needs
