Location: Worcester
Hours: Day Shift, Monday to Friday
Salary: £31,300 – £39,800 DOE
Key Responsibilities of a Line Planner – Production Control
- Own the A-line plan for the assigned machine line, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and delivery targets.
- Represent the product group in key daily meetings (MOD meeting, New Option meeting, morning production meeting, pre-firm check meeting).
- Coordinate activities across ICS, EDM and PMC to support efficient production flow.
- Manage expectations for new options entering the assembly process to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency.
- Lead modifications affecting your product group to drive improvements in line efficiency and output.
- Act as the first point of contact for YMX, providing updates on open slots, sequence approvals and delivery confirmations.
- Confirm material availability following specification or sequence changes and highlight risks to the Planning Manager.
- Resolve preferential origin issues impacting the build or export process.
- Approve and communicate sequence changes, escalating to the Planning Manager where required.
- Proactively manage open machine slots with YMX to optimise line capacity and customer delivery performance.
- Ensure customer delivery dates are achievable and maintained through continuous monitoring of the production plan.
- Support and validate option costing with accurate and timely input for commercial and production alignment.
Key Skills of a Line Planner – Production Control
Essential
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Advanced IT proficiency with the ability to interpret and analyse data effectively.
- High level of ownership, accountability and confidence in decision-making.
- Excellent problem-solving ability, particularly under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Understanding of ERP systems (ideally Microsoft AX).
- Good appreciation of how the physical production environment integrates with ERP activities.
Desirable
- Experience with engineering change management, modification control or new product introduction.
- Understanding of preferential origin rules and their impact on production/export.
- Previous experience in a sales coordination or customer-facing environment.
- Background in manufacturing or assembly operations.
- Knowledge of material planning principles and production structures.
