Key Account Manager – Defence & Composites
Location: Nuneaton (nationwide)
Salary: Highly Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Key Account Manager or Business Development Manager to join a global leader in Product Development, specialising in Engineering, Prototyping, and Low-Volume Production solutions.
The Nuneaton site has a strong history in Composite Tooling and Components Manufacturing and already holds a solid position within the Defence sector. With ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a driven professional to strengthen and expand our market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities in the Defence sector, focusing on composite materials and applications.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive growth and market expansion.
- Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competition, and customer needs.
- Proposal & Bid Management: Support the preparation and presentation of compelling business proposals, bids, and tenders.
- Sales Forecasting: Develop sales forecasts and manage a robust sales pipeline.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and marketing teams to ensure business alignment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, specifically within Composites and the Defence sector (essential).
- Degree qualified in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (advanced degrees advantageous).
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain key client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Deep understanding of composite materials and their applications within the Defence industry.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
