Health & Safety Advisor – 6325

Location: Gloucester EFW, GL10 3ET
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: Circa £45,000 – DOE


Key Responsibilities of a Health & Safety Advisor

  • Advising managers and supervisors on all safety, health, and welfare matters.

  • Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislation.

  • Conducting health and safety inspections/audits and preparing reports.

  • Investigating all accidents, incidents, hazards, and near-miss events.

  • Developing and delivering Health & Safety training for employees.

  • Monitoring and supporting managers to maintain a strong health and safety culture.

  • Liaising with external regulatory bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Fire Service, and Police.


Key Skills of a Health & Safety Advisor

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health (or equivalent)

  • Membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety & Health)

  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation

  • Experience in a similar role (waste management, recycling, collections, or quarry industries is a plus)

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Full UK driving licence
