Location: Stonehouse (site-based)
Hours: Full Time | Permanent
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 per annum

Job Description

Our client is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a fast-paced and innovative engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on the design, development, and testing of electronic systems within a highly technical and regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities of an Electronics Engineer:

  • Design and develop electronic systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Produce PCB designs suitable for manufacture (DFM)
  • Carry out debugging, testing, and validation of electronic hardware
  • Build and rework prototypes, including soldering and desoldering components
  • Support rapid prototyping using 3D printing and CAD tools
  • Specify, purchase, and set up lab equipment to support development activities
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) simulations
  • Implement structured testing processes to improve reliability and performance
  • Work with low power RF systems and wireless communication technologies
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and physics disciplines
  • Support research activities aligned with customer requirements and market needs
  • Represent the business at events, exhibitions, and seminars when required

Key Skills of an Electronics Engineer:

  • Experience in electronics design, including schematic and PCB layout (Altium preferred)
  • Strong understanding of PCB design for manufacture (DFM)
  • Hands-on experience with soldering and hardware prototyping
  • Experience with debugging and testing electronic systems
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as Autodesk Fusion or similar
  • Understanding of RF systems and wireless technologies (e.g. LoRa)
  • Basic knowledge of embedded software environments (C/C++, Arduino, ESP32 desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage projects from concept through to completion
  • Confident communicator, able to work across multiple disciplines
