CNC Miller – Cheltenham – Permanent – Up to £15 – £21 per hour.

Our client is a small precision engineering company, specialising in the manufacture of bespoke products for various industries, including aerospace, defense, oil and gas sectors, and bespoke architectural metalwork. Their core expertise lies in CNC and manual machining facilities, enabling them to produce a diverse range of products.

Our client is currently seeking CNC millers with the ability not only to set and operate but also to program CNC mills. Responsibilities include error detection, problem-solving, collaboration with CAD programmers for refinements and methods, and effective communication with colleagues.

The Machinery includes Mazak mills and lathes, a Doosan mill turn, and XYZ Proturns.

Relevant experience for the CNC Miller:

• Programming, setting, and operating experience of CNC milling/turning machinery.
• CNC milling/turning experience within a similar hi-tech environment.
• Ability to work accurately to deadlines.
• Proficiency in reading 1st and 3rd angle engineering drawings.
• Enthusiastic team player with a flexible and can-do attitude.
• Continual process improvement mindset.

Desirable experience for the CNC Miller:

• Relevant qualifications.
• Willingness to assist in other areas of the factory as needed.
• Conventional turning experience.
• Manual and/or CNC milling experience.
• Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Conduct first-off dimensional tests on new programs.
• Possess good knowledge of feeds and speeds when running CNC machines.
• Perform in-process controls using manual devices such as gauges and micrometers.
• Demonstrate problem-awareness and actively handle CNC machines.
