CNC Machinist Setter/Operator 6442

Location:
Worcester

Hours:
Rotating Shifts — 5:30am–1:30pm / 2:00pm–10:30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 2:00pm–8:00pm on Friday

Salary:
Competitive | Overtime paid at Time 1/3 for the first 2 hours during the week, then Time 1/2 thereafter. Saturday at Time 1/2 and Sunday at Double Time
 


Key Responsibilities of a CNC Machinist Setter/Operator:

  • Setting and operating 4 & 5 axis machining centres.

  • Producing a wide and varied range of high-tolerance parts used in the manufacture of precision machines.

  • Understanding CNC controls and contributing improvement ideas for the role.

  • Working within a team, adhering to strict Health & Safety guidelines and company rules.

  • Engaging in Health & Safety improvements and Kaizen initiatives to promote a positive working culture.


Key Skills of a CNC Machinist Setter/Operator:

Essential Criteria:

  • Understanding of milling and machining centre machines.

  • Experience in safely setting and operating automated CNC loaded machine tools.

  • Familiarity with cutting tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment.

  • Positive, can-do attitude.

  • Experience working within a team in a busy manufacturing environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to edit and program from engineering drawings.

  • Completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
