Business Development Manager

Location: Cheltenham (2 days WFH)
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £45k + 20% bonus + exceptional benefits package

Job Description

We’re excited to be recruiting for a fast-growing, forward-thinking B Corp-certified organisation that’s making waves in the commercial insurance space. Our client is looking for a confident and energetic Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving business where you’ll play a key role in driving continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager

  • Proactively prospect new clients through well-researched, personalised outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn and events

  • Schedule and attend meetings with prospective clients, clearly communicating how the company’s services deliver real commercial value

  • Represent the business with energy and professionalism at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience for prospects and new clients

  • Provide timely, consistent follow-up to ensure exceptional service and long-term relationship building

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and client experience

Key Skills of a Business Development Manager

  • Proven experience in sales or business development, ideally within a B2B or service-led environment

  • An analytical, inquisitive and technical mindset

  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with a positive, reliable and detail-focused approach

  • Confident building relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • Commercially minded, target-driven and self-motivated

  • Willingness to learn, develop and take ownership of success
