Assistant Buyer

Location: Worcester

Hours: Days Shift (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £26,681 – £33,900 DOE

Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Buyer

  • Manage supply chain deliveries in line with ERP requirements.
  • Execute MRP, KANBAN and JIT ordering.
  • Maintain and manage supplier order books.
  • Oversee the negative stock report and ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify potential shortages and take action to maintain delivery schedules.
  • Work with the supply chain to resolve delivery issues and maintain product flow.
  • Actively drive OTIF performance with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate ordering parameters.
  • Resolve invoice queries efficiently.

Key Skills of an Assistant Buyer
Essential:

  • Strong IT capability, particularly in Excel, data analysis, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and how they integrate with physical operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and environments.
  • Excellent planning and communication skills.
  • Understanding of project and production planning.
  • Strong scheduling and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX preferred but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
