Assistant Buyer
Location: Worcester
Hours: Days Shift (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £26,681 – £33,900 DOE
Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Buyer
- Manage supply chain deliveries in line with ERP requirements.
- Execute MRP, KANBAN and JIT ordering.
- Maintain and manage supplier order books.
- Oversee the negative stock report and ensure timely resolution.
- Identify potential shortages and take action to maintain delivery schedules.
- Work with the supply chain to resolve delivery issues and maintain product flow.
- Actively drive OTIF performance with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate ordering parameters.
- Resolve invoice queries efficiently.
Key Skills of an Assistant Buyer
Essential:
- Strong IT capability, particularly in Excel, data analysis, Word and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of ERP systems and how they integrate with physical operations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and environments.
- Excellent planning and communication skills.
- Understanding of project and production planning.
- Strong scheduling and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of Microsoft AX preferred but not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
