Key Responsibilities of a CMM Inspector:
- Operate and programme CMM equipment to inspect precision-engineered components
- Create and maintain measurement routines for in-process and final inspection
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T requirements
- Produce dimensional inspection reports and measurement records
- Carry out calibration and routine maintenance of inspection equipment
- Investigate and report non-conformances through NCR processes
- Support NPI projects and the introduction of new products
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve quality issues
- Ensure measurement systems remain compliant and repeatable
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within inspection areas
Key Skills of a CMM Inspector:
- Previous experience operating and programming CMM equipment
- Experience with Mitutoyo and/or Aberlink systems desirable
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using micrometers, verniers, thread gauges and other inspection equipment
- Knowledge of MSA and Gauge R&R principles desirable
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good IT skills and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
