Key Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager
- Promote the ContraFlex® product range to key stakeholders within the OEM market across the UK, with potential for global expansion
- Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement teams, designers, engineers, project managers and supply chain contacts
- Develop new business opportunities within the data centre and high-temperature exhaust aftercare (SCR) markets
- Identify and develop new markets, applications and customers for the ContraFlex® product range
- Work closely with Sales Engineers to prepare competitive tenders and quotations to secure new business opportunities
- Manage and maintain customer information using CRM systems, ensuring effective account management and pipeline visibility
- Plan and manage sales activity and customer visits to maximise market coverage across the UK
- Deliver professional product and service presentations to both technical and commercial audiences
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends, providing insight to strengthen market position
- Support ongoing product development and the launch of new products to maintain competitive advantage
Key Skills of a Business Development Manager
- Previous experience within technical sales, ideally within insulation, heating/cooling, power generation or a related technical sector
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage multiple opportunities effectively
- Confident communicator with the ability to build credibility with both technical and commercial stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated, proactive and driven with a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-up ability
- Full UK driving licence preferred due to field-based travel requirements
