Location:
Stroud

Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am – 2:00pm (40 hours per week) with overtime available

Salary:
£30,000 – £35,000 per/Annum (dependent on experience)
plus additional earning through bonuses and overtime


Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Fitter

  • Carry out sub-assembly production fitting and final assembly operations
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components and sub-assemblies
  • Produce fabricated assemblies of varying size and complexity, including marking out, cutting, folding, pipe bending, and weld joint preparation
  • Install hydraulic and pneumatic systems as part of general production builds
  • Verify complete assemblies for alignment, dimensions, and overall quality standards
  • Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and maintain a safe working environment

Key Skills of a Mechanical Fitter

Essential:

  • Solid engineering background with relevant industry experience
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings, general arrangement drawings, and sub-assembly drawings
  • Competent use of hand and power tools for assembling both large and small fabricated components
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)

Desirable:

  • Experience in vehicle fabrication or fitting
  • Background within aviation, military, marine, or similar industries
  • Basic electrical assembly experience and ability to read electrical circuit drawings
