Location: Coleford
Hours: 37.5 – 38 hours per week (Shift work required)
Salary: Dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities of a Assembly Fitter:
- Assemble pumps with electric motors or diesel engines
- Build bare shaft pumps to engineering drawings
- Assemble diesel and electric skid sets to drawings and bill of materials
- Complete production data books and check sheets accurately
- Raise any assembly or quality issues with the Supervisor or QA Engineer
- Ensure pumps and assemblies are correctly built and ready for testing
- Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures (including risk assessments and COSHH)
- Maintain care of tools and materials to avoid damage or loss
- Accurately complete timesheets
Key Skills of a Assembly Fitter:
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, plus 3 years’ experience
- OR minimum 5 years’ fitting experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong communication skills across production, QA, design and planning teams
- Logical and structured approach to work
- Self-motivated with a positive, team-focused attitude
Additional Information:
- Shop floor based role
- PPE must be worn at all times
- Potential shift work and occasional travel (including overseas)
