Business Development Manager – Battery Specific

Homebased, UK (with travel as required)

Salary:
Up to £40,000 per annum DOE
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

The Vacancy

Our client are seeking a talented Business Development Manager to promote and expand the sale of the company’s Battery Testing Service to both existing and prospective customers. Target sectors inclusive of automotive, aerospace, wider transportation, grid, renewable energy and specialist project markets.

This is a remote role with travel required to customer and stakeholder locations.

Key Responsibilities of a Business Development Manager:

  • Promote battery testing services to key stakeholders including procurement teams, managers, engineers and technical specialists
  • Engage with influencers, government bodies, funders and associated trade organisations
  • Identify and develop new markets, delivering presentations to prospective clients
  • Support the General Manager in preparing and responding to tenders
  • Assist in developing and executing sales action plans to grow battery testing and consultancy services
  • Develop and maintain a customer database to maximise business opportunities
  • Use prospecting tools to identify potential annual spend and support budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintain accurate sales activity records and prepare sales reports
  • Monitor service and product development to support continuous improvement
  • Share customer and project information internally to support cross-selling opportunities

Key Skills of a Business Development Manager: 

  • Previous sales experience within the testing sector
  • Good technical knowledge of battery testing methods and standards
  • Confident, proactive and commercially driven approach
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
