Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday

Salary: £27,500 – £45,000

Job Description

A rapidly growing UK manufacturer is looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Fitter (multi-skilled) to join their on-site assembly team. This is a permanent position based at a modern manufacturing and assembly facility in Heysham.

The business operates in a fast-paced commercial environment, supplying engineered products to a global customer base across multiple industries. Continued growth has created an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled fitter to join a stable, expanding team with long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembly of steel tanks and engineered units to high standards and specifications
• Mechanical and electrical fitting of components during assembly
• Installation of plumbing and pipework systems
• Working with single-phase and three-phase ancillary electrical systems
• Testing and inspection of completed assemblies to ensure quality and compliance
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Supporting wider production tasks as required (full training provided where necessary)
• Maintaining strong health & safety standards at all times

Key Skills

• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical fitting within a manufacturing or assembly environment
• Plumbing and pipefitting experience is essential
• Good electrical knowledge, including single- and three-phase systems
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of mechanical products, functions, and testing processes
• Adaptable, analytical problem-solver with a proactive mindset
• Comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplined team to tight deadlines
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Full UK driving licence and own transport required
• Clear communication skills and strong health & safety awareness
