Location:
Nailsworth/Stroud

Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7:30 – 16:30 
Friday 7:30 – 14:00

Salary:
£30,000 – 35,000 per annum (DOE)


Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Fitter:

  • Perform engineering duties related to sub-assembly production.
  • Conduct fitting and final assembly tasks.
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and sub-assemblies.
  • Assist in the production of fabricated assemblies of varying size and complexity.
  • Apply general mechanical skills, including marking out, cutting, folding, bending, weld joint preparation, and MIG welding.
  • Ensure all products meet required standards and quality as defined by drawings, instructions, and supervision.
  • Abide by company Health and Safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of those around you.

Key Skills of a Mechanical Fitter:

  • Ability to work from manufacturing, general arrangement, and sub-assembly drawings.
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools to assemble both large and small fabricated components.
  • Capability to check complete assemblies for alignment, dimensions, and quality.
  • Circuitry knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrics is preferred but training can be provided for junior candidates.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical assembly and the ability to read electrical circuit drawings is advantageous but not essential.
  • Prior experience in vehicle fabricating/fitting is ideal; however, experience in a mechanical environment is essential.
