Location: Worcester

Hours: Day Shift (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £33,900 – £46,700 DOE

Key Responsibilities of a Raw Material Buyer

• Source and negotiate new products to support NPI and new machine options
• Work proactively with the supply chain to drive efficiencies and reduce costs
• Supplier and commodity development
• Maintain supplier records to ensure compliance with ISO procedures, statutory requirements, and business processes
• Ensure adherence to Supply Chain Compliance (Preferential Origin, CBAM, UK/EU sanctions, etc.)
• Identify, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks

Key Skills of a Raw Material Buyer

Essential

• Strong IT capability including Excel, data analysis, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Understanding of ERP systems and ability to integrate ERP with physical operations
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and environments
• Knowledge of supply chain compliance within a global framework
• Ability to develop supplier relationships
• Cost analysis and cost management skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent planning and communication abilities
• Ability to lead by example and support team development
• Clear understanding of project and production planning
• Strategic mindset and ability to embrace change
• Strong decision-making aligned with business needs
• Demonstrated commercial negotiation ability
• Strong NPI implementation skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft AX (preferred but not essential)
• CIPS certified (professional purchasing qualification)
