Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Stroud
Hours: Full time
Salary: £50,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Quality Engineer to join a well-established engineering business in Stroud. This role is critical in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will lead quality improvement initiatives, oversee inspection activities, and work closely with internal teams and customers to drive continuous improvement across the organisation’s quality systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Quality Engineer:
- Design and implement quality systems and processes to ensure products meet or exceed standards and customer expectations
- Conduct quality audits, analyse data, and recommend process improvements
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to detect and resolve product issues
- Lead and mentor junior quality engineers, providing guidance on complex projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify quality concerns and ensure effective corrective actions
- Maintain documentation related to quality systems and procedures
- Communicate regularly with senior management and customers on quality initiatives
Key Skills of a Senior Quality Engineer:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Commitment to high quality standards within a strong safety culture
- Good working knowledge of QMS ISO9001:2008 (or latest revision)
- Experience working with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables
- Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in inspection tools and relevant software
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards
Additional Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Inspection Department and manage customer relationships
- Ensure all inspection activities meet regulatory and industry standards
- Manage calibration, maintenance, and repair scheduling for quality equipment
- Maintain inspection records, logs, and team schedules
- Engage with key suppliers to clarify and uphold quality expectations
- Liaise with customer representatives for final inspection and witness activities in line with Quality Plans
- Demonstrate full responsibility and compliance with Health & Safety requirements
