Manual Grinder (Aerospace Industry)

Location: Staverton

Hours: Full-Time Office-Based

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Salary: £25,000+ per annum (dependent on experience)


Job Overview:
Our client is a leading aerospace engineering company seeking a skilled Manual Grinder to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precision grinding tasks to ensure that aerospace components meet exacting quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and cutting-edge environment.


Key Responsibilities of a Manual Grinder:

  • Operate manual grinding machinery to achieve precise dimensions and surface finishes on aerospace components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure components meet design tolerances.
  • Perform detailed inspection of finished workpieces using micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Adjust machine settings and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and output quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to grinding processes, making necessary adjustments to maintain product accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to continuously improve production methods and component quality.

Key Skills of a Manual Grinder:

  • Proven experience in manual grinding within an engineering or manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace sector.
  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools and techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to document work processes and findings.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in troubleshooting machinery issues.
  • Experience with safety protocols and procedures related to grinding operations.
