Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver -6287

Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Location: Swindon
Hours: 40 hours – Monday to Friday
Salary: £12.21 – To be reviewed after probation

Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative

• Operate forklifts to safely load and unload materials from lorries.
• Transport goods to designated areas within the warehouse and yard.
• Carry out routine forklift inspections and maintenance.
• Use warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels.
• Assist with shipping and receiving, ensuring accurate handling of deliveries.
• Sort, store, and distribute materials efficiently within the warehouse.
• Perform minor equipment repairs and maintenance as required.
• Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
• Follow health and safety protocols, particularly in heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.

Key Skills & Requirements of a Warehouse Operative

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems is beneficial.
• Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment maintenance is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling.
• Basic maths skills for inventory and record-keeping.
• A valid forklift licence is required.
