First Base Employment Limited
Sewing Machinist / Assembler
This is a truly unique opportunity to work with a well-established company with an international customer base. Your role will be to assemble a wide variety of products, mostly by sewing, by working to drawings and follow set processes. Once trained and fully competent, you will be actively involved with and responsible for the full process from cutting set patterns from raw material right through to correct packing and labelling of product. You will generally work on small batches of product and so the work will be quite varied.
It is essential that you are able to follow verbal and written instructions accurately, have an excellent eye for detail and are able to maintain consistently high standards and work rate. Although the company do not impose strict or unrealistic production targets, you must be able to work efficiently to meet short lead times for customers.
A suitable candidate will be honest, trustworthy, reliable and dedicated with a sense of pride in their work. You must also be able to read and write, be confident with numbers and it is also necessary to be computer literate (training on exact processes will be given).
It would be HIGHLY BENEFICIAL to have industrial sewing experience (flatbed and overlocking) although candidates with good manufacturing, production or similar experience (ideally working with textiles) would be considered.
Full time, permanent position. 4 day working week: Monday-Thursday. 8:00am-6:00pm with 3 breaks during the day.
Salary full dependant on experience and skill set (paid as a salary – not hourly rate).
