Senior Account Manager

We are looking for a professional sales person who has a passion for food. This is an exciting time to join our clients team with the business focusing on future growth. 


Location: This role will be home based with regular visits to the clients office in Gloucestershire

Hours: Full time Monday to Friday – 9am until 5pm 

Salary: Competitive package 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • New business development

  • Working with the business to create and implement the commercial strategy 

  • Define strategies for long-term profitability and sustained growth

  • Identify new business opportunities and manage a project pipeline in collaboration with R&D resources

  • Supporting and working on wider group projects

  • Take charge of all aspects of your accounts including price and contract negotiations, product development and supply chain

  • Management of Key accounts

  • Responsible for the day-to-day commercial activities

  • Leading and preparing sales meetings

  • Driving and mentoring the sales team with direct reports 

  • Ownership of sales targets and KPI’s amongst the sales teams

  • Promote the wider group portfolio of products


Key Skills and experience required:

  • Results driven to lead sales/business development team

  • Ability to work well within a small team as well as part of a wider group

  • A good understanding of what motivates our clients customers and know how to tap into their requirements effectively

  • Highly organised and experienced in managing a small team

  • Hungry for growth!

  • The ability to motivate, engage and inspire the wider sales team 

  • A passion for food 

  • A passion for offering the highest levels of customer service

  • Experienced within commercial account management and sales/business development function and team

  • Specialist experience within the food industry ideally food ingredients

  • Experience with B2B sales

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Full clean UK Driving Licence and use of own vehicle

  • English language is required (written and verbal) for both internal and external Company communication

  • The flexibility to travel regularly with some overnight stays – some European travel may be expected
