Paralegal – Conveyancing

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Hours: Fulltime, Permanent
Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per annum DOE

Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Paralegal to join their team based in Cheltenham. To be considered for this role you will need some experience in a paralegal position, within conveyancing.

Key Responsibilities of a Paralegal

  • Assist the lead attorney with managing and advancing all sale and purchase cases within the team.
  • Review contract packs and raise relevant legal queries.
  • Prepare and provide advice to clients on various aspects of transactions and contract packs.
  • Draft and approve legal documents under the guidance of a lawyer.
  • Prepare and review accounting documentation.
  • Advise on and prepare Stamp Duty Land Transaction Returns.
  • Facilitate the exchange of contracts.
  • Oversee the completion process.
  • Supervise and mentor conveyancing assistants.
  • Proactively update clients and referrers throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Conduct client meetings as needed and respond to emails and phone inquiries promptly.

Key Skills of a Paralegal

  • At least 2 years of experience in a conveyancing role.
  • A solid understanding of sale and purchase transactions for freehold properties.
  • Strong self-motivation with the ability to organise both personal tasks and those of others effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
