Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire
Salary: £26,000 rising to £27,812 after probationary period + shift allowance
Hours: Full Time | Double day shifts (Earlies 6am-14:30, Lates 14:15-22:45 Monday to Thursday, 6am-11am & 10:45 – 15:45 Fridays)

Our client is looking for a Paint Prepper & Polisher to join their team!

Paint Prepper and Polisher preferably experience within an aerospace/automotive/manufacturing environment particularly with carbon fibre parts. Operations include surface preparation, masking and mounting components prior to paint.

Key Responsibilities of a Paint Prepper & Polisher:

  • Comprehend and execute the preparation processes necessary to meet high-quality paint standards.
  • Perform accurate masking and component preparation prior to painting.
  • Apply expertise in preparing and working with carbon fibre components to deliver excellent finishes.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on completed parts to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials following all safety protocols.
  • Produce high-quality parts that meet specified customer requirements.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and maintain consistency in finishing tasks. 
  • Polish gloss-finished components to a high-quality standard.

Key Skills of a Paint Prepper & Polisher:

  • Experience with carbon fibre prepping and polishing is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in preparing raw parts for primer and smoothing primer surfaces for topcoat applications.
  • Skilled in rectifying shape issues to achieve a smooth, flat surface.
  •  Competent in using fillers to address pinholes and surface imperfections.
  • Proven experience working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the automotive, aerospace, or motorsport industries.
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Able to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to producing quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear, effective team collaboration.
