A fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's leading PVC Windows and Door manufacturers on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Technician/ Engineer holding a solid understanding in both electrical and mechanical components (60/40) or (50/50), have experience within a manufacturing setting and be open to shift work.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Rectify mechanical breakdowns on plant and machinery
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on plant and machinery
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new plant and machinery
- Regular servicing as part of preventative maintenance program on all plant and machinery
- Daily and weekly checks on water system
- Complete daily timesheet and all associated paperwork
- General housekeeping in all work areas
- Proactive maintenance of all machinery
- Regular checks and paperwork completed efficiently
- Delivery of continuous improvement plan
- Consistently achieves all objectives
Skills & Knowledge required
- Physical fitness and a keen team player
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work using own initiative with minimum supervision
- City and Guilds 236 parts 1 & 2
- Electrical and mechanical experience – 18 th or 17th edition (potentially 16th)
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work rotating days and nights
- Punctuality at work
- Knowledge of PLCs and control systems
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Licence to operate a forklift truck or side loader desirable
Shift pattern
4 on, 4 off – rotating between days and nights
E.g : Week 1 : 7am – 7pm Mon – Thu
Week 2 : 7pm – 7am Tue – Fri
Week 3 : 7am – 7pm Wed – Sat
