Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
Hours: Fulltime, permanent
Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum

Our client is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician  to ensure adherence to safety regulations, conduct preventative maintenance, and maintain high equipment availability through continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

  • Prioritise health and safety in all tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, communicating effectively and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Support team and manage contractors.
  • Oversee critical spare parts inventory and general production support.
  • Utilize basic IT functions for maintenance records and databases.
  • Conduct repairs on building infrastructure.
  • Collaborate on construction plans and execute changes.
  • Uphold food and partner safety standards.
  • Execute standard operating procedures and conduct necessary checks.
  • Respond to food safety, quality, and customer requirement outages.

Key Skills of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

  • Engineering apprentice trained.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification.
  • Multi-skilled in electrical and mechanical, with electrical bias.
  • Familiarity with Planned Preventative Maintenance systems.
  • Proficiency in fault finding on Siemens PLC and material handling systems.
  • Interpretation of mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Experience with conveyor maintenance, motor controllers, and high-voltage switching.
  • Knowledge of sortation, conveyor machinery, and building equipment maintenance.

Desirable Skills of a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

  • Welding experience.
  • Siemens PLC fault finding skills.
  • Experience in electro-pneumatics.
  • FMCG industry experience.
  • Previous work in the food industry.
