Mill-Turn CNC Machinist – Night Shift
Location: Stroud
Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 22:00 – 06:00
Friday: 17:00 – 22:30

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mill-Turn CNC Machinist to join a leading precision engineering company on their night shift. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to work in a clean and well-equipped environment, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up CNC Mill-Turn machines using set-up sheets, tooling/fixtures, and Edgecam programs provided by Production Engineering
• Operate machinery in accordance with prioritised “Work to Lists” or as directed by Production Supervisors
• Accurately book all productive and non-productive hours using works travellers and fault codes
• Run machines to programmed speeds and feeds, monitoring cycle times to ensure they meet estimated targets
• Perform in-cycle inspections using micrometers, verniers, and CMM reports; complete Actual Dimensional Report Sheets (ADRS) where required
• Engage in multi-manning of machines when possible to improve efficiency and utilisation
• Report non-conforming parts immediately, identify root causes, and document issues for review by Production Team Leaders

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience operating and setting CNC Mill-Turn machinery
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and set-up sheets
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, etc.)
• Familiarity with Edgecam programming is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team on night shifts
