Field Service Engineer 

Location: Up North (variable travel distances) 
Hours: Monday – Friday | Dependent on services and workload  
Salary: £36,000 per annum 

 

Job Description 
Our client is looking for a driven and knowledgeable individual to join as a Field Service and Training Specialist. This role involves delivering technical support, servicing air conditioning units, and providing City & Guilds training. Travel and overnight stays are a key part of this position, offering an exciting and dynamic work environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities of a Field Service and Training Specialist 

Perform routine maintenance and servicing of air conditioning units, ensuring they operate efficiently and reliably.

  • Diagnose and repair faults in air conditioning systems to minimise downtime for customers.
  • Conduct installation checks and commissioning of new air conditioning units.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers on the use and care of their equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including service reports and maintenance logs.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels on company vehicles, ensuring all necessary tools and spare parts are available.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and health and safety regulations during all service activities.
  • Participate in regular training to stay updated on the latest industry practices, equipment, and regulations.
  • Travel to customer sites as required, with occasional overnight stays.

 

 

Key Skills of a Field Service and Training Specialist 

  • Strong understanding of air conditioning systems. 
  • City & Guilds mobile air conditioning qualification or equivalent. 
  • Previous sales experience, ideally in the automotive or agricultural sectors. 
  • High level of literacy, numeracy, and IT proficiency. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong networking and negotiation abilities. 
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Enthusiastic, driven, and customer focused.
