Role/Responsibilities:

The holder of this role will support the Facility Maintenance Engineer in proactively maintaining facilities and plant equipment to the highest standards.

Ideally, we are looking for someone that has skills in both domestic and /or industrial building maintenance. Ideally the preferred candidate will have completed an apprenticeship in a construction/electrical discipline. This is a very varied role and will include a mix of various building projects/tasks, that will include carrying out reactive maintenance and repairs ,Conduct Preventive Planned Maintenance, Involvement in building/facility projects, Adhere to health & safety policies 

Main Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Carry out and record routine scheduled maintenance work to the factory building, its equipment (except mould machines & production jigs), offices & grounds
  • Undertake first line fault finding and identify and carry out the most appropriate and economic means of resolution
  • Ensure all facilities critical spares are managed appropriately through inventory control systems
  • Maintaining the production facility with AHUs, cranes, compressors, security & fire systems etc.
  • Ensure the facility is available for production 100% of the time
  • Maintenance & repair work to be undertaken with due regard given to the hygienic nature of our business
  • Recommend improvements & modifications where appropriate
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of management
  • Day to day management of maintenance contractors and other facilities contracts
  • Produce and maintain risk assessments as required
  • Preventative maintenance system including compliance with the company’s ISO accreditation
  • RAMS & permit to work system
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance to good practice, legislation and company standards

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in this area such as City & Guilds or NVQ
  • COSHH or IOSHH desirable.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and able to work unsupervised
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail ​
  • Experience of working in a technical manufacturing, production or assembly environment would be ideal
  • A ‘Can do’ approach to work
  • A good understanding of current Health & Safety regulations
  • Knowledge in mechanical assembly techniques
  • Understanding of mechanical fault finding
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Good knowledge of quality, cost, efficiency, and safety

Full time, permanent role working day shift hours Monday to Friday

An excellent salary dependent on skills and experience will be offered to the successful candidate

33 days annual leave including statutory, 5% annual bonus, increased employer pension plus other benefits
