Fabricator Welder

Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30am – 16:00pm, Friday 07:30am – 13:30pm
Salary: £15.75 – £16.80 per hour + paid overtime

Our client is looking for a Fabricator Welder to join their team in Stonehouse.

You will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of light to medium gauge steel whilst liaising with other departments of the fabrication shop to ensure the fabrication is to the standard required.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fabrication environment along with a Fabrication or Welding qualification.

Key Responsibilities of a Fabricator Welder

• Read, interpret, and follow engineering plans, drawings, and instructions to ensure exact specifications of output.
• Fabricating work in various gauge metals (light to medium).
• MIG welding (predominately mild steel).
• Tig welding (predominately stainless steel).
• Grinding/polishing fabricated items by using various handheld tools and/or dedicated material finishing machinery.
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Ensure production times are met.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
• Maintain machinery and tools using preventative maintenance methods.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Key Skills of a Fabricator Welder

• Experience of working in a fabrication environment (engineering or metal work).
• Fabrication or Welding qualification, or time served in an apprenticeship.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering plans, drawings, and instructions.
• A keen eye for detail is essential.
