Electrical Assembler / Adjustment Engineer

The Role

• Electrical assembly and adjustment of Machine Tools, including Lathes and Machining Centres.
• Providing technical support to production departments on electrical systems.
• Supporting breakdown resolution and line stoppages quickly and effectively.
• Electrical testing and validation of new machine options, including functional checks.
• Preparing modification requests for electrical design changes, including circuits and loom harnesses.
• Validating electrical assembly process documents and check sheets.
• Identifying risks and supporting safety improvements.
• Providing technical support to Service and QA departments.
• Completing electrical fault finding efficiently.
• Working to high quality standards and achieving required productivity metrics.
• Completing all standard options on all machines within standard times.
• Providing training to others when required.

The Person

• Self-motivated, well organised and flexible.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering core principles.
• Methodical and systematic with strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits (depending on background).
• Experience in risk assessment and awareness of Health & Safety requirements.
• Able to define and document assembly procedures.
• Works effectively with people of all abilities.

Desirable

• Level 3 Apprenticeship in an electrical discipline, or nearing completion, or a recognised electrical qualification such as 18th Edition.
• Industrial electrical experience.
• IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
