Driver/Stores Operative
Location: Stroud
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 3:45pm; Friday, 7:00am – 12:45pm

We are currently recruiting for a Driver/Stores Operative to join a well-established engineering company in Stroud. This is a varied role, with the majority of time spent driving a company vehicle to support the movement of parts between the main site and local sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transporting parts between the company and local sub-contractors using a flatbed van
• Planning efficient daily routes in coordination with the Purchasing team
• Ensuring all required documentation accompanies transported parts
• Preparing sub-contract parts for dispatch and securing loads for transit
• Loading and unloading the vehicle as required (including occasional forklift operation)
• Conducting routine vehicle checks and maintaining vehicle cleanliness
• Supporting the logistics department during busy periods or staff absences
• Adhering to all road transport, health & safety, and company procedures

Key Requirements:

• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Experience in a similar driver/logistics role
• Good understanding of safe loading and securing procedures
• Forklift truck licence (desirable)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proactive approach and willingness to support across departments when needed
