Site Officer / Maintenance Person

Our client is looking for someone to join their team to be responsible for the smooth running, cleanliness and safety of various locations on a day to day basis.

Key Duties:

  • Carry out the cleaning, window cleaning, guest room laundry, minor repairs and maintenance of grounds and communal areas to required standards
  • Check alarm systems and access points, fire equipment and temperature controls and documenting and reporting to appropriate officer
  • Carry out minor repairs to make accommodation habitable and safe (curtain rails, bulbs, shelves etc)
  • Report repair requirements as necessary and follow up with any outstanding requirements
  • Maintain an inventory of communal equipment, ensure it is in a safe and suitable condition and raise orders with the Team Leader as required
  • To use, securely store and maintain tools, equipment, materials and chemicals in accordance with required standards
  • To identify potential hazards and maintain a clean, green and safe environment including removal of obstructions, refuse and bulky items
  • To work outdoors maintaining the grounds
  • To work with staff providing an out of hours service on a rota basis – responding to calls from alarm providers and others
  • Responsibility for small amounts of cash handling
  • Day to day responsibility for physical resources of the sites, their services and facilities

 A successful applicant will possess the following: 

  • Skills in cleaning, laundry, grounds keeping and basic household repair and maintenance
  • A willingness to undertake training and to attain any required competencies and licences relating to these tasks
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • The ability to maintain simple record keeping systems
  • The ability to use information and communications technology such as computers and hand-held devices
  • Understanding of basic health and safety issues
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and be flexible when necessary

 

Due to this position covering multiple sites, the successful applicant must have their own transport and be able to use this for work purposes (travel expenses paid in accordance with HMRC mileage rates).

This is a fixed term temporary appointment of approximately 2-4 months.

Hours: 37 per week 

Hourly Rate: £9.24
