Quality Engineer

Our client is the world's leading product development specialist in 3D printing with over 60 years’ experience working with designers and engineers from a whole host of industries to develop their products. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and driven individual to join our Quality Team.

The role:

The Quality Engineer will report to the QHSE Group Systems Manager and will support the management team and team leaders on the implementation, maintenance and improvement of quality standards. He/she will also liaise with project coordinators and production management to ensure acceptable quality standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities

  • Effective monitoring and control of workshop practices according to the workshop procedures and standards in place.
  • Taking an active part in resolving specific customer or project-related quality issues in conjunction with the General Manager and Project Coordinators.
  • Investigating the reasons for quality problems, proposing solutions and taking corrective action.
  • In process quality checks.
  • Final quality inspection.
  • Maintenance of quality statistics.
  • Proactive in suggesting process improvements.
  • Ensuring the quality department is compliant and ready for any audits.

Essential Experience / Qualities

  • Time-served apprentice / engineer
  • At least two years experience in a manufacturing or engineering background
  • Sound working knowledge of engineering inspection equipment, tolerancing and standards
  • Excellent computer literacy to handle file data as well as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Confident team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Desirable Experience / Qualities

  • Knowledge of prototyping/3D printing processes
  • Experience of quality inspection
  • Knowledge of ISO accreditations within production manufacturing environment
  • Trained to carry out internal audits

This position is based at our Quedgeley / Gloucester site. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary.

The standard hours of work are 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. This equates to a 37½-hour week.
